A Huge Thank You
Gwen and I want to thank everyone for being such loyal customers over the past six years. We really do appreciate your business. As the year starts we are in a slump and tired of sewing. We have to remind each other how excited our customers are about purchasing one of our bags and all the nice things they day about them. Thats what keeps us going throughout the year. So again thank you and hope to see you again next year at Knoebles.

What can we say but THANK YOU for a great day at the Hegins Craft Fair. We love being under the trees but on Saturday it was a little chilly..We were cold until about 2:00 in the afternoon. But seeing all our friends and return customers helped us warm up.!! See you at Knoebles!!(October 9,10,11). Gwen and I are going fabric shopping on Friday so we'll have new fabrics for your shopping pleasure...Have a nice weekend......

I sure everybody is ready for some Spring time weather. I know we are. We're offering FREE SHIPPING on all purchases to help put everyone in a Spring time mood. The sale ends Easter Monday April 13, 2009. Just a note about the shipping. The website is set up to add the shipping automatically. So when you purchase a bag and we sent it out to you we'll put the correct shipping amount in with your bag. Its just easier for us to do it that way. Hope you find something you like.

Another Successful Stitches East!
We can't begin to tell you how much fun we had at Stitches again this year. Sitting in our booth, it is like a fashion show...watching everyone go by in their fabulous knitted creations, such creative people always show up. Former customers and many new ones continue to inspire us to keep sewing and grow. Thanks to all of you for your compliments and purchases, it is truly appreciated.

Colorfest 2008
If you have never been to Colorfest in Thurmont, MD, you must go! It is one of the 35 best craft shows in the U.S, and we can vouch for that. Thanks to everyone that stopped to see us at our booth, we had a great two days!

We have added a new style to our "line"...the Hippy. You have seen them around, so now we have put our spin on this popular type bag. My daughter used it in New York over the weekend, and she loves it..worked very well for her...plus some compliments too. Happy Mother's Day
A poem for all MOTHERS, including ours, Barbara Adams...............
I know how often I took you for granted when I was growing up......I always assumed you would be there when I needed you....and you always were.....but I never really thought about what that meant until I got older and began to realize....how often your time and energy was devoted to me....so now, for all the times I didn't say it before....thank you, Mom.....I love you so very much....

Goin' Green !...Beans
Just made these for dinner last night and got rave reviews from the daughter! Easy and healthy, give them a try...
Green Beans Chinese Style
1 1/2 tbsp. minced fresh gingerroot ( I skipped this)
4 garlic cloves, minced
2 green onions, minced ( I used regular onions )
2 tbsp. dry sherry
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. light soy sauce
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 1/2 lbs. green beans, trimmed, rinsed and patted dry ( I sometimes use frozen )
1. Combine the ginger, garlic, onions, sherry, sugar, soy sauce and 1 tbsp. water in small bowl. 2. Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Stir-fry green beans for 2 minutes. Add 2 tbsp of water and cook another 2 minutes or until the water has evaporated. 3. Add the sauce and continue stir-frying for 5 more minutes or until beans are tender. Serves 6.

Road Trip!
Last Saturday, we had "fabric withdrawal", so we decided to hit the road to all our favorite fabric shops. We shopped all morning, went to lunch at Duke's, and then shopped some more! Our bins are full now...lots of neat stuff. But now the work begins again!

Great (old) Dip Recipe!
LU LU Paste
1 green pepper, diced fine
1 small onion, diced fine
3 TBSP sugar
2 TBSP apple cider vinegar
2 eggs
8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1/2 tsp. salt
Beat together and slowly cook sugar, vinegar, and eggs until thick, being careful eggs don't curdle. Pour over cream cheese, pepper and onion and mix well. Chill. Serve on crackers, bread, or used to fill celery. Enjoy!

Spring is Here!
Hope everybody had a nice holiday and had their fill of ham!! Ours was quiet, no kids around anymore to have an egg hunt! We still made baskets for our grown children, though. They liked the candy, but the lottery tickets were a bigger hit!

Recipe
From time to time we thought we would share one of our favorite recipes, since we both like to cook and bake.
Stella Bane's Coconut Pound Cake
1 1/2 Crisco
2 1/2 C. sugar
5 eggs
3 C. flour
1 C. milk
1 Tsp. baking powder
1/2 Tsp. salt
1 Tsp. coconut flavoring
1 can Baker's coconut
Glaze
1 C. sugar
1/2 C. water
1/4 C. Karo syrup
2 Tsp. coconut flavoring
Mix Crisco and sugar. Add eggs. Alternate flour and milk. Add remaining ingredients. Pour into
greased and floured Angel Food Cake pan (tube pan). Bake 325 degrees for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. (usually takes a little more than 1 hour).
Cook glaze 2 minutes and pour over hot cake. Let cool in pan. Remove.

Philadelphia Flower Show
Last Friday we attended the Philadelphia Flower Show with our daughters, Lauren and Amy. We went by train from Harrisburg and thoroughly enjoyed the day. If you have never been there, you should put it on your "Bucket List"!
