| Our Materials
Our wooden handles have been individually handcrafted by friend and woodworker, Dan Mione. They are hewn from Pennsylvania Cherry or Maple and measure 12 inches by 4 inches. The ultra smooth finish is achieved by hand rubbing with linseed oil and a protective coat of satin polyurethane. Because wood is a product of nature, each handle will have its own distinctive markings and characteristics which only add to their beauty. Dan’s handles play a large part in the beauty of our Knitting bags. As you can see in the photos, his home is located in the woods of the picturesque Clarks Valley. He has transformed his A frame building into his workshop where he produces "silken finishes!" Top quality upholstery, tapestry and drapery materials are used in all of our bag designs. Proper attention is given to outside and lining compatibility. Stripes, textures, and small prints are often selected as linings, giving each bag a distinctive personality. Gwen and I especially enjoy this aspect of the creative process. We strive to keep our selection unique and varied, therefore limited quantities are available. Finding just the perfect combination can be a challenge but so much fun!! |
